On a chilly Wednesday afternoon the University of Vermont men's soccer team lost 1-0 to the New Hampshire Wildcats in the America East semi final game at Virtue Field on November 7, 2012 in Burlington, Vermont....
After finishing atop the America East standings for the first time since 1989, and being only the second team since 1997 to finish the season undefeated, the Catamounts were poised to host the championship game. All they had to do.... beat the #5 seed New Hampshire. Last time theses two teams met (back on October 20), the game ended in a 0-0 tie in double overtime.
This time however, the Wildcats outplayed the Catamounts and beat them on the road to advance to the championship.
