Once again, I was assigned to photograph the Vermont state high school girls gymnastics championship which took place at Essex High School on Saturday afternoon February 22, 2014 in Essex, Vermont...
This was the second time I've covered the event for the Burlington Free Press. Last time I had no idea what I was in for having never shot gymnastics before. This time, however, I knew what to expect and since I was assigned to photograph the meet for the Free Press I had to make sure I identified each person in the pictures... easier said than done.

There is a lot going on at a gymnastics meet. Teams take turns rotating through vault, bars, balance beam and the floor routine. It's impossible for me to get all the photos so I decided to concentrate of the three top teams... Essex (#1), South Burlington (#2) and Champlain Valley Union (#3).
