The Vermont men's hockey team hosted the Boston College Eagles for a two game series at Gutterson Field House on Friday and Saturday February 14-15, 2013 in Burlington, Vermont...
The Catamounts have played pretty well this year, climbing the national rankings to #14. Quite an improvement from the last two seasons. The Eagles came into "the Gut" sitting atop the rankings at #1 and with the regular season winding down Vermont needed to play their best to come away with some points from the weekend series.
When Boston College comes to town the students come out to heckle the visitors and to support the Cats. It was a loud and rowdy crowd for both games. Too bad it's not like that at all the games.
On Friday night (Valentines Day) the Catamounts wore pink jersey's as a part of the Hockey East Skating Strides Against Breast Cancer initiative. All the jersey's were auctioned off after the game and all the proceeds benefit various breast cancer charities.
