Vermont State Championship - Rice vs. Mount Mansfield 03/08/12

  I've photographed a lot of high school basketball (especially Mount Mansfield) for the Burlington Free Press this year.  I wasn't on assignment for anyone at the Vermont State division I boys basketball Championship game between the Rice Green Knights and the Mount Mansfield Cougars but I figured I should be there...

  I took a break from covering the 2012 Burton US Open and drove the two and a half hours back to Burlington to cover the game.  

  The game is held at Patrick Gym on the campus of the University of Vermont each year with parents and students packing the place for the game.  Mount Mansfield definitely has the best fans in the state of Vermont (at least that I have seen) as you can see here and here.  It was nice to shoot some high school basketball in decent lighting.   Great game from both teams but in the end Mount Mansfield finished off their incredible season beating Rice 41-34.
